It is best to write such Tutorials as soon as one masters the basic concepts - this practice ensures that all important bits of info and sequence of actions are still fresh, and the troubles you just had as a newcomer are on sight. And, of course, I will be happy if this writing will be useful to anyone else. So why to write yet another piece of instructions? The answer is simple - I do it mostly for myself in case I will need to refresh my knowledge and pick forgotten tricks. There are many nice sources on CMake online, including Tutorials, Documentation, Examples, and Video and Webinars. It took me couple days to learn the basics of CMake and get going with my projects. Finally, with the developer-written installer, the user-friendliness of the product increases. It is much simpler, faster, and most importantly, the result is more transferable across platforms (the goal of CMake). Hesitating at first in favor of more fundamental and more familiar to me Make utility, I have realized how advantageous it is to use the CMake. So I've decided to give CMake tool a try.
